Lure Coursing

Lure Coursing with Ron Moutvic, DVM

Lure Coursing is an event that is designed specifically for Sighthounds, but as we have learned at Camp, all breeds love it.

In Lure Coursing, the dog chases an artificial lure around a field, following a pattern that is meant to simulate live coursing.

Ron sets up the course at the beginning of camp, and has it running as much as possible.  The course is set up in an empty field and is about a quarter of a mile long.  An individual dog runs it as many times as they like, it is a great way for the dogs to burn off some energy and encourage natural pray/chase drive.
